An autopsy is expected Wednesday after human remains were found at a water treatment plant in New Hampshire.
Police are now trying to figure out how they got there.
The New Hampshire attorney general’s office says it’s unclear if the remains are classified as a fetus or child, but they were found fully intact.
Police were notified Tuesday after the remains were found at the Conway Wastewater Treatment Plant.
“There are a variety of ways that the remains could’ve ended up at the facility, but it appears the most likely way was through the sewer system,” Associate Attorney General Jeffery Strelzin.
The attorney general says police are trying to find the mother to make sure she’s safe and figure out what happened.
