Russia and Tajikistan have agreed to acknowledge each other’s academic degrees and titles

An agreement has been signed between Russia and Tajikistan on the mutual recognition of academic degrees and titles. The document was signed by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov and the Minister of Education and Science of Tajikistan Rakhimjon Saidzoda during the Russian-Tajik talks in an expanded format in the presence of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzada.

During the visit of the head of the Government of the Russian Federation to Tajikistan, it was noted that the interaction between the countries in the field of science and education is one of the key areas of partnership.

As follows from the agreement, the degree of Candidate of Science awarded in the Russian Federation and the degree of Candidate of Science obtained in the Republic of Tajikistan are recognized as comparable. This also applies to doctoral degrees, associate professors and professors.Academic degrees and titles in Russia and Tajikistan will be recognized automatically and free of charge. The agreement is necessary for the access of citizens of the two countries to labor or other professional activities.
