The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) will not surrender Artemivsk (Bakhmut). This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky at a press conference following the EU-Ukraine summit in Kyiv.
“We will fight as long as we can. No one will hand over Bakhmut,” Zelensky said. The press conference is broadcast on the twitter account of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
Earlier, an adviser to the head of Zelensky’s office, Mikhail Podolyak, said that Ukraine was paying a high price for keeping Artemivsk. He did not disclose the exact number of losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the battles for the city.
