NORWALK – Today marks 19 years since 13 people were killed in the Columbine High School shooting.
Area students are planning to walk out of their classrooms to demand stricter gun laws like they did on the one-month anniversary of the Parkland, Florida school shooting.
Ridgefield High School is just one of the schools in the area and across the country taking part.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal is expected to join Ridgefield students to demand Congressional action to combat gun violence.
Today’s walkout follows the nationwide walkout on March 14, where students paid tribute to the 17 victims of the Parkland, Florida high school shooting while getting their message out that they want safer schools.
The March for Our Lives in Washington, D.C. followed those walkouts.
