Ford U.S. Sales up 9.9 Pct in Q2

Ford Motor Co. sold 531,662 vehicles in the United States in the second quarter of this year, up 9.9 percent from 483,688 in the same period of 2022.

Ford truck sales went up 26.2 percent in the second quarter, making Ford America’s No. 1 selling truck manufacturer this year. In the first half of 2023, the Dearborn automaker’s overall truck sales totaled 549,625, up 23.1 percent and outselling GM’s trucks and vans by approximately 61,000 trucks.

F-Series is America’s No. 1 truck with sales at 212,516 in the second quarter, up 34.0 percent year on year and 24.7 percent from the first quarter. F-Series truck sales went up 27.9 percent in the first half of this year.

Ford’s electric vehicles sales were down 2.8 percent year-over-year in the second quarter, but up 11.9 percent in the first half of this year. The U.S. automaker’s overall EV sales were up 35.5 percent in June.

To be specific, sales of all-electric F-150 Lightning rose 119 percent year on year in the second quarter, and 4.1 percent from the first quarter.

Overall, Ford’s sales were up 10 percent year on year in the first half of 2023; and the gross stock stood at nearly 410,000 vehicles at the end of June.
