BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – The Professional Logging Contractors of Maine are holding their annual meeting Friday in Brewer.
But before that, members stopped by Eastern Maine Medical Center to meet with staff.
Since 1996, the group has raised nearly a million dollars for children in Maine with their Log a Load for Kids program.
The donations have helped EMMC projects, including the development and support of the neonatal intensive care unit.
Loggers got a tour of the NICU Friday.
“It’s really unbelievable to see where they started and where they’ve gone to. Still pulls at your heart pretty hard to go see it in action. So this is the first time I physically came to see it. And it feels good. It really does.”
“The logging community has been a tremendous support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals for so many years. To be able to have them come on up and really see the impact of their dollars today means the world to us.”
Professional logging contractors of Maine was formed in 1995.
