MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Connor Panas singled three times, and Sean Reid-Foley allowed just five hits over 6 1/3 innings as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats defeated the Hartford Yard Goats 5-2 on Saturday.
Reid-Foley (2-0) picked up the win after he struck out three and walked one while allowing two runs.
New Hampshire got on the board first in the third inning when Vladimir Guerrero hit a two-run single and Bo Bichette scored on a forceout.
The Yard Goats cut into the deficit in the sixth inning when Yonathan Daza hit an RBI single, bringing home Mylz Jones.
The Fisher Cats later tacked on two runs in the seventh when Cavan Biggio drew a bases-loaded walk and Guerrero scored on a double play to secure the victory.
Peter Lambert (0-1) went three innings, allowing three runs and two hits in the Eastern League game. He also struck out two and walked three. Conor Fisk pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings for his second save of the season.
New Hampshire improved to 5-1 against Hartford this season.
