SUFFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) – A Suffield town official has been placed on administrative leave pending a criminal investigation.
According to police, Shane McCannon, 39, of Munson, Mass. was allegedly involved in a domestic disturbance in Ludlow, Mass. on April 19. Ludlow Police contacted Suffield Police that morning to request assistance with locating and arresting McCannon.
McCannon, who is the superintendent of the Suffield Water Pollution Control Authority, was found and arrested by police in Springfield, Mass. and charged with strangulation/suffocation, assault and battery and larceny under $250. McCannon was held on $5,040 bond.
The Board of Selectmen and WPCA held an emergency meeting Thursday evening, and placed McCannon on administrative leave pending further investigation.
