The golf community responds to Jack Nicklaus providing Tiger Woods with a reality check

After his harrowing car accident in February 2021, Tiger Woods has been forced to adopt a semi-retired persona, only gracing a select few exhibitions and sporadic PGA Tour events, including the highly-anticipated Majors. Despite fervent appeals from fans and peers alike, he has adamantly refused to use a golf cart to aid his mobility during competitions.

However, his conversation with Jack Nicklaus implies that things might change a few years down the line.

Tiger Woods wants to join the senior circuit

In a conversation with Nicklaus, the legend expressed his interest in joining the senior circuit. Tiger would become eligible for the same around the end of 2025 as he turns 50 years old. “He’d love to play the senior tour. That’s what I love about Tiger, he’s a competitor, he loves competition.”

The 18-time major winner also gave a reality check to Woods by asking him to use a cart. And not surprisingly, he refused to do it again. However, the PGA Tour pro said that he would not mind using a cart when he joins the senior Tour.

The PGA Tour Champions can definitely expect to see power-packed action when the legend joins the circuit.

What does the Golf world think about this revelation?

“Welp champions will be more popular than PGA”

“Tiger on wheels will obliterate the Senior Tour record book. Love it.”

“Champions Tour is going to get mega ratings when this occurs.”

“TW and John Daly ride together!”

“Way to go Tiger. Let’s keep you in the game.”

“Senior tour higher ratings than LIV by a mile”

“It will become TW vs Padraig”

Moreover, Nicklaus thinks the GOAT still plays well, however, walking on the course proves to be a difficulty for him. “He’s going to play the Majors, he can actually still hit the ball pretty well, he just can’t walk.”

With his leg and ankle injuries acting as a hindrance, Woods has made the tough call to limit his involvement to only the most prestigious events – the four Majors – along with a handful of select competitions, if his body permits. However, the 2-time PGA Tour still possesses the skill and tenacity to vie for an elusive 16th Major title. Will Tiger win another green jacket?
