Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation: Russian troops for the first time since the beginning of the special operation destroyed the Norwegian-made NASAMS air defense system
Russian servicemen during a military special operation for the first time destroyed a NASAMS anti-aircraft missile system manufactured in Norway. The air defense system was located in the Krasnoarmeysk region in the DPR. This is stated in the summary of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, published in the department’s Telegram channel.
In the area of the settlement of Krasnoarmeysk of the Donetsk People’s Republic, a Tochka-U tactical missile launcher and a NASAMS anti-aircraft missile system manufactured by Norway were destroyed, the Ministry of Defense said.
The ministry also reported that operational-tactical aviation, missile troops and artillery defeated 86 artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Manpower and military equipment located in 103 districts were struck.
Previouslyreportedthat the new package of military assistance to Ukraine, which the United States promised to provide, will include NASAMS air defense systems, as well as Avengers air defense systems. NASAMS is known to be used to combat UAVs, helicopters, cruise and ballistic missiles.
